(More customer reviews)Buying online can be hit or miss sometimes. Looking at the image I thought this cover was black, or at least a dark gray. When it arrived I saw its color is actually a shiny, silver finish (my mistake as I misinterpreted the image).
When the sun is shining the mirror-like cover deflects the majority of sun away -resulting in little to no heat buildup. As a result the water below doesn't get any real heat from this unit. With the cover in place, light that would normally hit the bottom of the pool is now blocked, I wouldn't be surprised if this thing actually prevents heat from building up in the water.
The cover is not much different than bubble wrap- basically three big sheets taped together and cut into a circle. Perhaps it's good for keeping leaves out of your pool, but I don't see it doing anything to warm the pool water.
