Perhaps could be topped by a down or Qualofil stuffed throw but the wool and the heft realy put this over the top. If you are ever in Peru, buy the heavy alpaca/ wool blanket, the 1/4 inch or thicker heavy one.Talk about warm, it is as warm as and softer than a $500 Hudson Bay 6 point blanket. LL Bean used to rate the warmth of their various comforters in terms of comparison of numbers of Hudson Bay wool blankets, 4 being "extremely warm"
