The hamper itself is really cute, nice fabric, etc. The removable mesh bag inside was invaluable for hauling my son's laundry down the stairs to the washing machine. And did I mention it's CUTE?
Unfortunately, the tag inside says it's washable ("machine wash cold, tumble dry low"), so when I started to notice a buildup of dust inside after two years of use, I followed those instructions. When I removed it from the dryer it had shrunk so much that it no longer fits on the frame and is now unusable. I just wrote to the manufacturer to complain; we'll see if they will do anything to make it right.
That said, as long as you don't wash this hamper, it's great. You might try handwashing, or at least not putting it in the dryer, if you need to clean it but don't want to stop using it completely.
Update 12/9/2010: I apologize for taking over a year to update this review. I contacted the manufacturer, and they very promptly sent me out a replacement fabric cover and mesh bag at no charge. I have no plans to wash the replacement cover, though!
