(More customer reviews)I've been on a Spongebob kick and when I saw this in the store and felt how soft it was, I couldn't pass it up. The fabric is very soft and I thought it was the same material as the heavier comforters (which I looked up and discovered are called 'mink' rather than 'raschel'). It is a light blanket but keeps me very warm.
The blanket is also a nice size, labeled 'twin'. I am 20 and honestly a little hefty, and this blanket wraps around me no problem. For younger kids, it would be a dream. The graphic is nice and bright and the blue is very attractive. I like the design because it's one of Spongebob's less....spastic expressions.
In the store this was not in its own plastic packaging like most blankets. It was packaged like your standard throw; rolled/folded up and bound by ribbon and a cardboard circle. Washing instructions were simple and I washed the blanket before using it. The blanket survived its first trip through the wash and dryer without fading, tears, or losing it's softness.
I picked this up at a local K-Mart for about $25. It was a good deal for the blanket, but the extra $10 on Amazon makes the purchase an iffy choice. For the price charged on Amazon, you're probably better off buying a full size comforter or 'mink' comforter for the same price if you're looking for a heavier, warmer blanket. This blanket is a good bridge between throw and comforter weight.
