I haven't made this thing yet but the pattern looks pretty easy to follow. The pattern is printed on newsprint paper. So if you're planning to make more than one capote based on this pattern, be prepared to iron on some fusible interfacing.

The fur traders made extensive use of the blanket capote and this apparel, with bright colors and contrasting stripes, was quickly adopted by the Indians of Western America. These coats were popular along the western moving frontier and were later used by soldiers and frontiersmen. They have become both popular and fashionable for today's men and women. This pattern is the traditional mid-calf length with variations in hood tassles and fringe. This pattern is for adults (men's sizes 36 through 50 and womens sizes 8 through 20) and EV91 is made especially for children. Great for Pow Wow and SASS Living History events.
