It is a beautiful white with super soft satin trim that feels like the most ideal baby blanket ever, but big enough for an adult bed! It definitely has to be washed before using because it sheds before the first wash, but after that it's fine. It is double-sided, which means the two sides can come away from each other at the center, because it has no ties or stitching, but a simple tug on each side of the bed brings it back. I can't imagine anything I would change about it!
