(More customer reviews)I am a cost conscious shopper and have been looking for a mattress pad for some time with the features advertised for the Queen Size Camelot Haven III mattress pad. The dual "sensing" control for example with preheat features was one of those features. It does have dual sensing controls which is an excellent idea for our household where my wife is a regular 'fire pit' most of the time and I could be described as the iceberg that sank the Titanic. You would think that we should complement each other nicely but try putting iceberg feet on a 'fragile as glass', superheated wife and see where that gets you! Thus, the dual controls work well; however, I wonder greatly about their claims for "Smart Technology - Thermofine Warming System Senses and Adjusts, to Send Warmth when and where You Need It." because after you wait a good half hour for the preheat function to warm up the bed I have found that even the lowest setting gets to be too warm in the middle of the night. This lack of sensing is the biggest reason why I gave it a four star rating verses a five. A second reason is that I found the same mattress pad at Costco for half the price including taxes that I paid for it here at Amazon a few weeks after we had it on our bed and that 'really' took the wind out of my sails (sales)! I can't discredit the product for my own misfortune though. There is one other item both my wife and I took exception to and that was the large receptacle for the controls and heat at the base of the mattress. It sits dead center, at the base, on the top of the mattress pad. You need to pay attention to what control goes with which side of the bed before you string the wires between the mattress and box spring and then the large plug needs to be attached to that center receptacle. It isn't necessarily a problem if I keep myself on my half of the bed and don't get my feet anywhere close to the bottom but, unfortunately, I like to sleep on my stomach and hang my toes over the end of the bed where they often encounter that connection when I drift into my wife's space. So, if you are an "over the end" type of guy, keep that in mind for this connection problem and also there is no heating over that edge either. Perhaps they could have extended the heating coils a little farther down and the connection as well. On the plus side another reason we purchased this particular mattress was because it states it "Fits up to a 21" thick mattress." The depth of our mattress is 14.5 inches and this mattress pad fits nicely for that depth where we can tuck about three inches (do the math) under our mattress. Bottom Line: It does about 90% of the job I bought it for and I'm comfortable with that both mentally and physically.
