(More customer reviews)While this product is advertised as being for puppies & small dogs, I purchased it for my 2 year old, medium-sized mixed breed (53 lbs. & approx 23" long from neck to just above his tail) & he LOVES it. Right out of the box he used it exactly as it it is designed to be used... he scratched at it, buried his head in it, rolled over on his back & held it between his paws to chew on it, & then rolled himself up in it. He has other blankets that he enjoys playing with but the nesting mat seems to make him especially happy. Since the different layers of blanket are attached to the cushioned bottom it's easy for him to snuggle into & under. He can have some of it covering his back while he has his nose buried under another section w/o being tangled in it. It's a little small for him to use as a mat to lay on but as something to snuggle with, & to do all the activities listed above, it's size seems just right. It wouldn't be, however, if he were any bigger.
Don't be put off by the fact that the mat is described as "mini" or that it is for puppies or small dogs. It isn't only small dogs that enjoy digging, snuggling, & nesting & this nesting mat's size can support use by medium-sized dogs. As I said, my dog is 53 lbs & he's an aggressive chewer & far so good; the nesting mat has stood up to his play. If your small to medium-sized dog enjoys playing & snuggling with blankets then he'll probably love the nesting mat.
