(More customer reviews)The front side of the quilt if pretty and well made but the back has the inaugural speech of Barak Obama on it. No where can I find does it say anything about a speech being on the back especially Mr Obama's. I would have made another selection if I would have known this.

On January 20, 2009 the President, in his inaugural speech, called upon Americans to unite and act. His powerful words of "our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness" was a call to action. Through the idea of our "patchwork heritage" we become powerful, our different shapes and sizes sewn together for one common purpose. This is the idea that the Patchwork Heritage Quilt celebrates.
The front of the quilt is comprised of 13 different fabrics representing our original 13 colonies, while the reverse of the quilt features the President's inaugural speech highlighting the words "patchwork heritage".


Blanket America is partnering with Gifts In Kind International (http://www.giftsinkind.org/) to distribute quality fleece blankets to Americans in need.

Gifts In Kind is a charitable organization that works with corporate America to distribute product donations--including books, toys, personal care products, clothing, building supplies, household items, and much more--to qualified nonprofit organizations. Each year the organization distributes product donations valued at more than $400 million to charities around the country. Gifts In Kind will leverage its broad network of nonprofit organizations to ensure that the donated blankets provided by Blanket America are distributed to charitable organizations directly serving people and families in need. Over 35 million Americans are below the poverty line. It is Blanket America's goal to provide 1,000,000 blankets to those in need this year. The purchase of the Patchwork Heritage Quilt is to ensure the donation of a blanket to the needy through our charity partner.
The throw measures 60 by 70 inches. It's made of 100% pre-washed cotton and is machine washable.
